Abstract:

Relative Humidity is considered to be one of the most important climatic parameters and atmospheric phenomena. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the regional algorithms for estimating Relative Humidity using remote sensing data in Hormozgan province. To this end, MOD05 and MOD07 products were employed to estimate total perceptible water, air temperature, and sea-level pressure Additionally, MOD35 was used for cloud verification, , resulting in the identification of 2190 cloudless images with 95% confidence level for analysis. radiosound data of Bandar Abbas ststion and synoptic stations Covering entire Hormozgan Province. were used to evaluate the results. The findings demonstrated high accuracy of the algorithms and experimental model, with acceptable R² and RMSE values between Modis product and ground data. These results align well with ground station measurements. The province's climate was determined to be semi-desert with a long warm season and a short cool period. Further analysis revealed a strong correlation between sea-level pressure and total perceptible water (TPW) with the region's topography. Maximum TPW and sea-level pressure values were recorded in coastal lowlands, while minimum values occurred in the highlands. Based on zoning maps, Hormozgan province can be divided into four regions based on Relative Humidity: from very dry conditions with less than 20% Relative Humidity in the highlands to humid areas with over 65% Relative Humidity along the coast.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to present a method based on global and experimental algorithms for estimating Relative Humidity in Sistan and Baluchestan province. For this purpose, Terra MODIS images and products (MOD05, MOD07) of 10-years (1-Jan-2009 to 31-Des-2018) under cloudless conditions were used as selected data. To validate the obtained layers (near ground surface temperature, ground surface pressure, total perceptible water, TPW, and Relative Humidity), the ground station and the radio sound data were used. The R2 and REMS values of the recorded layers from the sensor and the ground data were acceptable and the sensed data were in good agreement with ground station measurements. Results show that the altitude factor play an important role in temperature measurement. The minimum amount of TPW has been recorded to be 6 mm in the Khash, Mir Java and Saravan regions in the cold season and the maximum amount of TPW has been recorded to be 49 mm in the coastal areas in the warm season. The average Relative Humidity in the province is in equilibrium in the cold season, while it is out of equilibrium in the hot season, so that it is above 60% on the coast of Oman and less than 10% in the central province (Khash, Mir Java and Zahedan).

Abstract:

Introduction In the pursuit of detecting the trend and the shift in trend in hydro-meteorological variables, various statistical methods have been developed and used over the years. Of the two methods commonly used (parametric and non-parametric), the non-parametric method has been favored over parametric methods. Long term trend analysis can reveal the beginning of the trend year, trend changes over time, and abrupt trend detection in a time-series. It is expected that the findings of this study will bring about more insights on understanding the regional hydrologic behavior over the last several decades in Iran...

Abstract:

Experiments were conducted to evaluate the response of different originated (the same mother plants with different growers from different cities in Ethiopia) cut rose flowers to various Relative Humidity (RH) and recut (recut and non-recut). Three different experiments (E1, E2 and E3) using three RH (60, 75 and 90%) and three Ethiopian growing areas (Fleur, Liki and Longonot) with 10 replications were designed. Cut rose flowers from three growing area were recut to 5 cm and placed in 60, 75 and 90% RH as a commercial supply chain. Rose flowers without any recut were selected as control. Mean comparison in three experiments revealed that by increasing storage time in cold room, flower vase life significantly decreased. 75% RH produced the highest flower vase life compared to 60 and 90% RHs. However, mean comparisons showed that cut rose flowers originated from Liki growers significantly had the highest vase life compared to others which followed by Longonot and Fleur ones. The results revealed that 5 cm cut the end of flower stem significantly increased flower vase life compared to control. Mean comparison of bacterial populations in commercial supplies of the three experiments, declared the highest amount of bacteria in E1 than the other experiments. Cut rose flowers originated from Liki growers had the highest bacterial populations at the bottom part of the stem compared to the other growers. The results also showed that the end part of stems contain more bacterial agent compared to upper parts.

Abstract:

The present study was conducted to examine the changes in monthly, seasonal, and annual trends in Relative Humidity of 13 meteorological stations in the Razavi-Khorasan Province from the beginning of the statistical period of each station until 2021. The study area includes Dargaz, Fariman, Golmakan, Gonabad, Kashmar, Khaf, Neyshabour, Mashhad, Quchan, Sarakhs, Sabzevar, Torbat-e Jam, and Torbat-e Heydarieh counties. Parametric linear regression and the nonparametric Mann-Kendall (MK) test were used to detect trends in Relative Humidity. The majority of stations have shown decreasing trends at 5% significance level in Relative Humidity in different time scales, and only in two stations, Quchan (June, December, and autumn season) and Sarakhs (autumn season), the Relative Humidity showed an increasing trend at 5% significance level. A decrease in monthly mean Relative Humidity for six stations has been found in the range of 0.7 to 3.5 percent/decade, while an increase for Quchan station 1.9 to 2.6  percent/decade was observed. In addition, most of the studied stations have experienced a decrease in Relative Humidity on a seasonal and annual scale. A decrease in Seasonal mean Relative Humidity for six stations has been found in the range of 0.6 to 2 percent/decade, while decreases in annual mean Relative Humidity stations ranged from 0.9 to 1.6 percent/decade. The results of this research indicate a decreasing trend in the average monthly, annual and seasonal Relative Humidity during recent years.

Abstract:

In this research, the effects of storage temperature and Relative Humidity were studied on quality factors of pistachio nuts including moisture content, peroxide value and free fatty acids. The required experiments were carried out in form of 4*4 factorial experiments in a completely randomized design (CRD) and repeated 4 times. Storage conditions were simulated in temperatures of 5, 15, 25, and 35oC, and Relative Humidity in range of 11 to 87%. Determination of quality factors were carried out at the startup and with 15 days intervals during storage time. Statistical analysis was done and changes of pistachio quality aspects were presented as variation intensity curves versus storage time. By using kinetic analysis of oxidation for pistachio lipids, the reaction rate of oxidation was modeled as a first order differential equation. The constants of oxidation rate in storage temperature of 5 to 35oC were in range of 0.145 to 0.567/month. By using Arrhenius relationship, Activation energy for oxidation reaction of pistachio's lipid was equal to Ea =31.459 kJ/mol.
